Seoul Current does not operate user accounts, comments or an email database. We do not ask you for your name, address or payment details, and we never sell personal data.

Cookies and your choice

Advertising choices are handled by Google's certified European regulations message where it applies. Google provides a Privacy and cookie settings link so eligible visitors can reopen that message and change their choice. Google Analytics, if enabled, uses a separate Seoul Current choice and is not loaded until analytics permission is granted.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense code on eligible article pages. Ads may be served when Google makes ad serving available. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, IP addresses and similar technologies to deliver, measure and personalize ads, and to limit how often you see the same ad. Third-party advertising partners may set or read cookies in your browser as part of ad serving. Where required, Google's published consent message presents consent, refusal and management choices and communicates those choices through its certified consent system.

Analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, sessions, approximate location, device and browser information, and referral sources. The Google tag is not loaded when you decline. We use this only to see which stories readers find useful.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard request logs, including IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. These logs are retained by the provider for a short operational period and are not used to build reader profiles.

Children

This site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data relates to you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to processing. Because we do not hold accounts or an email list, the data we can act on is usually limited to cookie choices in your own browser, which you can clear yourself at any time. For anything else, write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
