BIGBANG will open its 20th-anniversary world tour with three concerts at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province on August 21, 22 and 23, 2026. The shows bring G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung together for the group’s first official tour since “LAST DANCE” in 2017.

The three shows, and what the announcement actually says

Coupang Play is presenting the opening concerts. The Korean ticket notice listed a fan-club presale on June 24 at 7 p.m. KST and a general sale the following evening, June 25 at 7 p.m. KST, both handled inside the Coupang Play mobile app rather than a conventional ticketing site. That single-channel arrangement is unusual for a Korean stadium run and is worth noting if you are reading an older guide that assumes a standard ticket agency.

Coupang’s announcement also sketches the shape of the show: a set drawing on the group’s catalogue, with “Lies” (거짓말), “Haru Haru” (하루하루) and “BANG BANG BANG” named, plus solo stages from each member. Read that as an indication of scope, not a published running order. Setlists are not confirmed until the night.

Both sale dates have passed. Anyone still looking for a seat should check only the live status inside the official app. A search result, a screenshot or a fan guide written in June cannot tell you whether returned tickets, production-release seats or an official resale route exist today.

Why promoters keep choosing Goyang

Goyang Stadium opened in September 2003 and sits roughly 20 kilometres northwest of central Seoul, in Ilsanseo-gu. Its fixed capacity is 41,311 seats. The Korea Times reports that concert configurations, which add floor standing in front of the stage, push the working capacity closer to 50,000.

The reason it has become Korea’s default big-show venue is largely negative. Per the Korea Times, the 70,000-capacity main stadium at Jamsil Sports Complex has been closed for renovation since August 2023, and Seoul World Cup Stadium rarely issues concert permits because of the risk of damage to its pitch. The main indoor alternatives, KSPO Dome and Inspire Arena, hold about 15,000 each. For a show aimed at 40,000-plus people within reach of Seoul, promoters are effectively choosing between Goyang and nothing.

Recent users illustrate the point. The same report lists SEVENTEEN (October 2024, 58,000 across two nights), G-Dragon in March 2025, Coldplay in April 2025, BLACKPINK in July 2025, and BTS, which opened its “ARIRANG” world tour there in April 2026.

Getting there, and the last-train problem

There are two rail approaches, and they are not equivalent.

The fast one is the GTX-A express line, whose KINTEX station the Korea Times describes as bringing Seoul Station within under 30 minutes. The conventional one is Seoul Metro Line 3 to Daehwa, the line’s northwestern terminus; Wikipedia’s station data puts a Daehwa–Seoul Station trip at roughly an hour once you include a transfer. Either way you finish on foot — neither station exits into the stadium.

The part that catches visitors out is the return leg. An open-air stadium show that runs to an encore can finish late, and 40,000 people leave through a small number of gates at once. Neither Line 3 nor GTX-A runs through the night. Before the show, look up the last departure toward your destination for that specific date on the operator’s own site, then add a realistic buffer for clearing the concourse and the station queue. If the margin is thin, the practical options are a room in Goyang or Ilsan, a pre-booked car, or accepting that taxi demand at 11 p.m. outside a stadium is not normal taxi demand. Any shuttle service would be announced by the promoter, not by the transit operator.

What a stadium ticket buys, and what it does not

If your reference point is an arena, adjust two expectations. First, distance: at 40,000-plus, a large share of seats are far enough that the screens and delay towers are the show, and the stage design is built on that assumption. Second, weather: Goyang Stadium is open-air, and these are late-August dates in Korea. There is no roof over the bowl, so heat, humidity and rain are part of the ticket. The trade-off is that an open bowl allows effects an indoor room cannot — the Korea Times notes fireworks, air balloons and drone shows among the reasons acts choose it.

Plan the entry the same way. Gates for a stadium open earlier and absorb crowds more slowly than an arena’s, and merchandise queues at a three-night run are usually worst on night one.

What is still unannounced

At the time of this check, the sources cited here confirm the Goyang dates and nothing beyond them. YG Entertainment’s notice of March 4, 2026 confirmed that the group would mark its 20th anniversary with a global tour; the later Goyang notice describes the stadium run as that tour’s opening. Neither document contains a full international itinerary.

So a circulating city list is not evidence. Until a stop is attached to a named local promoter, a venue and an on-sale date, treat it as unconfirmed. The safest ticket path for any later leg is the promoter page linked from BIGBANG’s or YG’s official channels — not a sponsored search result that happens to use the tour name.
